When are you open?
We are open for business during the fair-weather seasons (not winter) and
mostly on weekends only. Appointments are usually necessary but we can
accomodate same day appointments.
Call us now,
208-751-JUMP.
What are the age requirements?
You must be at least 18 years of age. Skydiving is a great way to celebrate your 18th Birthday!
What happens if the parachute doesn't open?
By law (FAA regulations), all intentional parachute jumps must be made with a
dual parachute system with both a main canopy AND a reserve canopy. In other
words, you have a second (or spare) canopy in case the first one fails to
open properly.
Can I get pictures and video taken?
Absolutely! For only $79 more, you can have a skydiving photographer with
specially mounted video and still camera equipment record your jump for
all time! You get a roll of negatives, mostly of your freefall as a
cameraman flies right with you in freefall, capturing every moment from
only a few feet away! You get the undeveloped film as soon as you land!
You also get a video dubbed directly onto DVD with your choice of background
music!
How fast will we be falling?
Typical freefall speeds are approximately 120 MPH although this can increase or decrease slightly
with body size and position.
Who packs the parachutes?
Reserve parachutes are inspected and repacked every 120 days, per FAA regulations,
by an FAA certificated parachute rigging loft,
Splatula Rigging.
Main parachutes are either packed by the instructor performing your jump,
an FAA certificated parachute rigger, or by a professional parachute
packer under the supervision of an FAA certified rigger.
Are there group discounts?
Yes! If you have a group of 6 or more, the organizer of your group will
receive a 50% discount or can choose to share the savings amongst his/her
group. If you have 10 or more in your group, the organizer will receive
a
FREE TANDEM or share the savings amongst the group.
Are there weight requirements?
Maximum combined weight of the gear, yourself, and your instructor must not
exceed 500 lbs. Additionally, jumpers cannot be grossly disproportionate.
Be sure to tell us your weight and height when making your appointment.
What if I have a disability?
Paraplegics and persons missing limbs regularly make skydives. Please call
us to discuss your situation. We'd love to share the sky with you!
Do you teach BASE jumping?
NO. While most of our staff are experienced BASE jumpers, Snake River
Skydiving does not teach or recommend BASE jumping.
